3.28.09 You are what you think.
Don't like what or who you think you are? Stop thinking that, and whatever you desire to be, think that is what you are.
In fact, don't just think it, know it, feel it, claim it as though it is the fact.
Know that whatever it is you wish to be, you have the ability, the intelligence, the resources at hand to be that person.
Do you want to know why you should believe this and do this? Because it is true. You are what you think you are.
Nothing comes into existence except that is first thought. A chair was not a chair before someone thought of it and then afterward made it. But first, it was a thought. The same is true for all that you see and believe to be real. First, it was a thought.
You may not believe this when you read it. It doesn't change the fact that it is true. You may not believe in gravity, but gravity still holds you to the earth. You may not believe the Sun is still and the Earth moves around it, but it does.
You are not the product of heredity, environment, or past experiences. You are the product of what you have chosen to accept as the "truth" or "reality" as to who and what you are.
Demonstrating this fact may come more quickly or slowly depending upon your receptivity and willingness to accept this as true. Practicing also speeds your progress in this endeavor. You can prove this for yourself. Take something simple that you currently consider as part of who you are. Reverse your thinking about it and watch the results.
For instance, perhaps you believe that you are a person who gets up at a certain time every day. But really, you would like to be the person who gets up an hour earlier. Then you should think, "I am not a person who gets up every day at 7:00 a.m., I am a person who gets up at 6:00 a.m. every day. I love getting up at 6:00 a.m., I leap out of bed at 6:00 a.m., I am wide awake and well rested at 6:00 a.m. every day. I do those things that allow me to rise at 6:00 a.m. each day and feel awake and refreshed.
Continuing to claim this, you will find that you become a person who gets up at 6:00 a.m. instead of 7:00 a.m. each morning. You can apply this to all areas of your life. You can apply this to your health, your home, your family, your income, your work.
You may wonder, "what happened to getting up every morning at 7:00 a.m." or "what happened to the person who got up at 7:00 a.m?" Well, now you can see that it wasn't an unchangeable fact at all, but merely a belief; a changeable belief. When you change your belief, then what before seemed real, becomes unreal, and so it disappears into nothingness."
